| Selection Using Pen Tool |

One of the advantages of using Pen Tool is that we have full control the process of selection, especially with complicated object. When mistake occurs, we can easily adjust it and that means that we don’t have to start all over again. I use Adobe® Photoshop® CS3 ® software.

1. Choose Pen Tool, click Path mode 2. Select/draw the area with pen tool ![]() 3. Click Path on palette, or window>path ![]() 4. Right Click, choose Make Selection ![]() 5. Filter Radius: 0, click Ok ![]() 6. Here comes the selection ![]() 7. Make a new layer, name it base color under the outline layer (see Coloring Manga Character Tutorial) 8. Fill with Paint Bucket Tool (Keyboard Shortcut: Alt+Backspace) ![]() 9. Finish
